Mobile Telephones

We have seen a dramatic increase in the number of mobile phones being used by children. Despite recommendations that young children should avoid prolonged contact with mobile phones, tempting technology has encouraged their purchase. Mobile phones are expensive items that have the potential to be stolen by older youths or lost.
Phones now come with games, web browsers and digital cameras built in. We do not impose bans without careful consideration. However, we feel that mobile phones are an unnecessary accessory to the school bag. If you wish to contact your child in an emergency, you may do so at any time via the front office. If a child is unwell or distressed, we will contact you immediately (as long as you have left us an emergency contact number).
If you feel that an exception should be made for your child, please feel free to discuss this with the Headteacher.
