School Uniform
We encourage the children to wear our school uniform. It consists of a navy blue sweatshirt with the school emblem, a blue or white shirt or blouse, grey trousers or skirt. Year 6 pupils may wear a tie. All these items of uniform may be purchased from the school. In summer girls may prefer a blue gingham dress. We would like you to dress your child sensibly and provide suitable black shoes. Trainers should only be worn for games lessons. A painting apron will help to protect clothes from paint of clay. For PE all children need shorts, a T-shirt (preferably a school T-shirt) and plimsolls. A tracksuit can be worn for games. The same shoes should not be work for indoor games as for outdoor games.
For safety reasons long hair must be tied back during PE and swimming caps must be worn by all pupils. PE kit should be in school at all times and should be taken home for washing at weekends.
Please make sure that NO jewellery is worn to school. It can be dangerous in play and is easily lost or damaged. An exception is made for children with pierced ears. In this case only stud earrings should be worn and must be removed for any form of physical activity.
Please avoid having your child’s ears pierced just before the start of a term, or even during the short intervals between terms. As they have to keep the earrings in for the first six weeks it would mean that they would be unable to take part in any part of the PE programme for this time.
