The Ethos of the School

Recognising its historic foundation, this Church of England (Voluntary Controlled) school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.
The ethos of the school is determined by the way in which the staff (teaching and non-teaching) and the children work together. We aim to develop a positive, supportive environment in which everybody will have the confidence to succeed so that:-
• All children make the most of their talents and abilities;
• Each child is valued as an individual;
• All children can enjoy being part of a community, based on Christian values, that cares for each other and shows mutual respect and understanding;
• All children understand the acceptable rules of behaviour and can therefore benefit from a calm environment in which to learn and relax.
