Aims of The School

• To develop our pupils so that they are equipped for secondary education and for life;
• To deliver the whole curriculum, including the National Curriculum, in a challenging and stimulating environment so that pupils enjoy learning;
• To provide support, training and development for all our staff;
• To demonstrate care and understanding to all our pupils;
• To involve the school in the community and the community in the school;
• To respond to parental concerns as rapidly and as fully as possible and, wherever possible, within 24 hours.
We aim to do this by enabling children to develop their strengths in all aspects of the curriculum. In particular; by acquiring effective skills in literacy, Numeracy and Information and Communication Technologies; by developing in our children a love of learning and by fostering attitudes which will instil self-confidence, a sense of personal excellence and wide personal interests.
The specific objectives that further these aims will be found in subject policies and are integral to the work that we do in school.
The effectiveness of this statement of aims is monitored by:-
• Staff at regular meetings concerned with the quality of the work of the school;
• Governors at meetings of the Governing Body and during the course of individual visits;
• Parents on an ongoing basis, through discussion with their children and meetings with staff.
